Many thanks, Mark ------------- Postdoctoral Research Assistant: Acoustic Analysis Tools for Sound Archives Centre for Digital Music Queen Mary University of London http://www.jobs.qmul.ac.uk/3515 Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to investigate the development and application of non-speech, non-music acoustic analysis for sound archives. An increasing amount of audio and audiovisual material is becoming available in digitized archives. However, access to these archives is currently hampered by a lack of tools to enable people to find sounds in such archives. The purpose of this post is to investigate and develop tools to help people to find material in these archives in interesting and useful ways. This post is part of the multi-person project EPSRC project "Machine Listening using Sparse Representations", based in the Centre for Digital Music (C4DM) at Queen Mary University of London. C4DM is a world-leading multidisciplinary research group in the field of Digital Music & Audio Technology, and is part of the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science (EECS). The post is full time for 14 months starting from 1 February 2013. Starting salary will be in the range GBP 35,824 - GBP 39,936 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006.
