The Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences (SLHS) Department is a CAA-accre= dited program in both audiology and speech-language pathology. The departm= ent has 14 faculty members, 350 undergraduate and 125 graduate students. T= he SLHS Department is a key component of the UCONN Cognitive Sciences Progr= am and a participating department in the interdisciplinary training program= funded by a National Science Foundation IGERT (Integrative Graduate Educat= ion and Research Training) grant (igert.cogsci.uconn.edu).The Storrs campus= is located in rural Connecticut, 30 minutes from Hartford and 60 minutes f= rom Providence, RI, between Boston (90 minutes away) and New York City (2 = =BD hours away). The successful candidate will teach graduate and undergraduate courses in a= udiology. The teaching load will be four courses for one semester and thre= e courses for the other semester. In addition, this individual will be expe= cted to participate in outreach and service activities. Minimum qualifications include a completed terminal degree (e.g., Au.D., Ph= .D. related field) or equivalent foreign terminal degree at the time of app= ointment and a proven record of teaching excellence. Preferred qualifications include a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Au= diology and experience teaching a broad range of topics in audiology. The = successful candidate will be able to foster a collegial working atmosphere. This position is a nine-month, non-tenure track position with reappointment= annually.
