The Speech, L= anguage, and Hearing Sciences (SLHS) Department offers graduate training pr= ograms in audiology and speech-language pathology, both CAA-accredited. The= department has 14 faculty members, 350 undergraduate and 125 graduate stud= ents. The SLHS Department is a key component of the UCONN Cognitive Scienc= es Program and a participating department in the interdisciplinary training= program funded by a National Science Foundation IGERT (Integrative Graduat= e Education and Research Training) grant (igert.cogsci.uconn.edu). The successful candidate will be expected to obtain external funding, to co= nduct and publish research, and to teach undergraduate and graduate courses= in audiology. This individual will also participate in the administration= of departmental programs, advise undergraduate and graduate students, supe= rvise research activities of Au.D. and Ph.D. students, and participate in o= utreach and service activities. Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in audiology or related field or equivalent f= oreign terminal degree at the time of appointment; a proven record of excel= lence in teaching; an established, successful research program; evidence of= ability to contribute through research, teaching, and/or public engagement= to the diversity and excellence of the learning experience; evidence of ab= ility to foster a collegial working atmosphere. Preferred Qualifications: Earned Ph.D. in audiology with CCC-A; current ran= k of Full or Associate Professor; expertise in prevention and/or management= of hearing loss (although strong candidates in other areas of audiology wi= ll be considered); track record of success in obtaining external funding; e= vidence of service to the field or profession through leadership in profess= ional organizations, editorial activities, university service, etc. This is a full-time, 9-month, tenure track position with an anticipated sta= rt date of August 23, 2014. The successful candidate's primary academic ap= pointment will be at the Storrs campus with the possibility of work at the = UCONN Health Center in nearby Farmington, CT. Salary will be commensurate = with qualifications and experience.
