--f46d0401fb2f554e2a04d53ec8ee Content-Type: text/plain; charset=windows-1252 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Dear list, I would like to announce an opening at Starkey Hearing Technologies for a research scientist to perform research in hearing science toward improving the benefit of hearing aids (posting # 13048 at starkey.com/careers). The position will be based in the company's research facility in Berkeley, CA, the Starkey Hearing Research Center. Note that this is a second opening, different from the position that I announced a couple of weeks ago for a cognitive hearing scientist (posting #13017 at starkey.com/careers). See below for details of the position and instructions on how to apply. You are welcome to contact me off the list if you have questions about the position. Sincerely, Sridhar Kalluri The Starkey Hearing Research Center is a division of Starkey Hearing Technologies, the world=92s largest manufacturer of custom hearing solution= s. The Center is situated within the broader research division of the company. The research conducted at the Center is focused on two primary tracks: auditory perceptual science and signal processing technology. Basic research in psychoacoustics, cognition, and speech understanding assists in developing new signal processing algorithms, new diagnostic-based fitting procedures, and new patient-benefit validation approaches. Signal processing research enhances the functionality of hearing instruments and improves sound quality, speech understanding, and music appreciation for people with hearing impairment. The Starkey Hearing Research Center is currently seeking a Research Scientist in hearing science to work in a dynamic environment where ideas based in hearing science are rapidly tested and efficiently translated into new hearing technologies. The position is responsible for conducting psychoacoustic and speech research on listeners with hearing impairment that drives the development of innovations in the hearing-aid industry. This work will contribute to Starkey=92s efforts towards providing assisti= ve technology yielding continued improvement in the ability of listeners with hearing impairment to communicate, react, and interact in their socio-acoustic environment. The position will report to the Manager of Hearing Science. The Research Scientist will be an integral member of a group of highly skilled and motivated researchers at the Center who are working in close collaboration with a larger community of Starkey researchers located in Minnesota to improve the quality of life for those with hearing loss through evidence-based innovation. The Center is located in Berkeley, CA.
