--_002_CEF2CE1C40A99mrosenneomededu_ Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable NIH-funded Postdoctoral Position in Auditory Physiology and Perception Auditory Neuroscience Group, NEOMED (Northeast Ohio Medical University) A NIH-funded postdoctoral position is available to study the effects of dev= elopmental hearing loss on auditory processing. Using communication signals= and other auditory stimuli, the lab conducts multi-site electrophysiology = in behaving animals, in vivo intracellular recording, and computational ana= lyses to evaluate population codes for normal and degraded auditory percept= ion, and the underlying synaptic mechanisms. Our laboratory is part of a larger, very active Auditory Neuroscience Resea= rch Group. We have combined expertise in multiple approaches (slice, intrac= ellular in vivo, and chronic neurophysiology; optogenetics; calcium imaging= ; behavior; anatomy) as well as across brain regions (auditory brainstem, a= uditory midbrain, auditory cortex, amygdala). The group is highly interacti= ve and accessible; the successful candidate can benefit from this expertise= and from ongoing collaborations within the group. The position is available immediately, with the potential for continuation = through April 2018. Candidates should have experience with electrophysiolog= ical recording and/or with behavior, experience in working with animals, an= d a strong interest in auditory processing.
