Postdoctoral positions are available to study the cognitive neuroscience of= hearing and communication with Ingrid Johnsrude, at the University of West= ern Ontario. Successful applicants will use behavioural methods and/or fMRI and/or elect= rophysiological methods in young and/or older listeners to study how sound,= particularly (but not exclusively) speech, is processed by the brain, and = how processing is influenced by attention and prior knowledge. Specific pro= jects depend largely upon the interests of the successful applicants. Positions require a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline (e.g., psychology, heari= ng science, neuroscience, physiology, engineering, computer science, etc); = excellent quantitative and computer skills, and effective oral and written = communication skills. Positions are in the Brain and Mind Institute at Western, which is a vibran= t group including 27 PIs, 15 research associates, and 32 postdoctoral fello= ws. It is one of North America=92s foremost cognitive neuroscience groups, = with both 3T and 7T MRI systems, TMS, and cutting-edge facilities for other= types of psychophysical, electrophysiological and cognitive assessment.
