Job ad below. Lab is securely funded and I'm interested in someone who is interested in staying full time for at least several years. Please forward to any interested parties. Thanks! --jg *Lab manager position - Duke University* ** Neuroscience laboratory in the Department of Neurobiology and the Center for Cognitive Neuroscience at Duke University seeks a lab technician/lab manager for a start date Sept 1 or as soon as possible thereafter. The job is approximately equal measures animal care and administrative duties. The animal care involves work with macaques, including handling and training them, and potentially helping with experiments. Administrative duties involve facilitating the day-to-day needs of researchers in the lab such as ordering supplies pre-emptively so there are no shortages, working with vendors to generate quotes for new items, charting the health status of animals in the lab, working with University administrators as needed, overseeing the laboratory's compliance with IACUC regulations, etc. and other necessary activities to keep the lab running smoothly. Depending on the employee's interests and aptitude, the job could involve direct participation with research as long as this does not detract from other responsibilities. The only necessary qualification for the job is a high level of comfort and skill in handling and caring for large animals. Prior experience with non-human primates is not necessary but would be considered a plus. For more information, send resume, cover letter, and a list of references to Dr. Jennifer Groh (jmgroh@xxxxxxxx, www.duke.edu/~jmgroh <mailto:jmgroh@xxxxxxxx>) as soon as possible, ideally by August 27. -- Jennifer M.
