Research at = MARCS is conducted in five interdisciplinary research programs: Music Cogni= tion & Action, Speech & Language, Bioelectronics & Neuroscience, Multisenso= ry Processing, and Human Machine Interaction. MARCS is located on the Banks= town, Campbelltown, Kingswood and Parramatta Campuses. MARCS seeks a Postdoctoral Fellow to join the Music Cognition & Action rese= arch program. The position is associated with an Australian Research Counci= l (ARC) Future Fellowship awarded to Associate Professor Peter Keller. The = grant provides funding for a 4-year project entitled =93Psychological and n= europhysiological mechanisms underlying human interaction in musical contex= ts=94. The aim of the project is to investigate the behavioural and neural = mechanisms that underpin an individual=92s ability to synchronize with othe= rs during musical activities such as ensemble performance. These mechanisms= will be examined by studying relationships between performance on sensorim= otor synchronization tasks, social variables (e.g. personality), and brain = structure and function in naturalistic and laboratory settings. The Postdoctoral Fellow will have demonstrated research experience in cogni= tive neuroscience, specifically neuroimaging, with a desirable focus on aud= itory temporal processing, sensorimotor integration, human motor control, o= r a related topic. The Postdoctoral Fellow should have knowledge of anatomi= cal and functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) data acquisition and an= alysis techniques for estimating structural, functional, and effective conn= ectivity between brain regions. Remuneration Package: Academic Level A (Step 3-4) $94,027 to $99,756 p.a.
