This project will build the next generation of audio e= diting and production tools that incorporate audio source separation into t= he workflow. This will involve research in building mixed initiative interf= aces, multi-cue audio source separation algorithms, and machine learning as= well as embodying them in actual working systems. Individuals with experie= nce in audio signal processing, machine learning and human computer interac= tion (HCI) are encouraged to apply. The Interactive Audio Lab, headed by Professor Bryan Pardo (http://www.cs.n= orthwestern.edu/~pardo/ ), has a particular focus on using signal processin= g and machine learning tools in the service of cutting edge user interface = design for non-speech audio. Recent graduates from the lab work throughout= industry and academia at institutions such as Bose, Gracenote and the Univ= ersity of Rochester. Northwestern University is a leading university in th= e United States and the Times Higher Education World University Ranking pla= ced Northwestern 21st out of 400 world universities in the 2014-15 academic= year. How to apply to the lab as a PhD student -------------------------------------------------- Those primarily interested in the human computer interaction portion of the= work should apply to the Technology and Social Behavior Program (http://ts= b.northwestern.edu/admissions.php ) . Those primarily interested in working= on the signal processing and machine learning aspects of the work should a= pply as a Computer Science applicant through the department of Electrical E= ngineering and Computer Science (http://www.eecs.northwestern.edu/eecs-grad= uate-admissions ). How to apply to the lab as a postdoctoral researcher --------------------------------------------------------------- Individuals with relevant recent doctorates should email Bryan Pardo direct= ly at pardo@xxxxxxxx<mailto:pardo@xxxxxxxx>. Please includ= e a CV and a brief description of how your interests and background relate = to the project. --_000_8E4E2E5D3B3892419FC9C0107BAF99332D9E3DC9CHCSPMBX4adsnor_ Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <html dir=3D"ltr"> <head> <meta http-equiv=3D"Content-Type" content=3D"text/html; charset=3Diso-8859-= 1"> <style type=3D"text/css" id=3D"owaParaStyle"></style> </head> <body fpstyle=3D"1" ocsi=3D"0"> <div style=3D"direction: ltr;font-family: Tahoma;color: #000000;font-size: = 10pt;"><br> <div style=3D"font-family: Times New Roman; color: #000000; font-size: 16px= "> <div></div> <div> <div style=3D"direction:ltr; font-family:Tahoma; color:#000000; font-size:1= 0pt"> <p class=3D"MsoNormal"><font size=3D"3">&nbsp;</font></p> <p class=3D"MsoNormal"><span style=3D"font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quo= t;"><font size=3D"3">The Interactive Audio Lab at Northwestern University i= n Chicago, Illinois, USA &nbsp;(<a href=3D"http://music.cs.northwestern.edu= " target=3D"_blank">http://music.cs.northwestern.edu</a> ) seeks two researchers at either the doctoral student or postdoctoral lev= el to work on robust interactive audio source separation.
