The Cogan Lab (PI: Gregory Cogan) at Duke University is seeking a research = assistant/lab manager to start in September 2017. Research in the lab focuses on using high density/high channel count record= ing arrays (high density ECoG - up to 1000 channels, ~1-2 mm spacing - in c= ollaboration with the Viventi Lab) to understand speech, language, and cogn= ition using data from functional surgery patients (e.g. epilepsy). We also= use EEG, and fMRI as well as MEG (off-site), to help support the research = program. Responsibilities include subject recruitment, data collection, data managem= ent and analysis, helping to write papers for publication, and general admi= nistrivia. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about a career in science/medicine= /engineering, self-motivated, independent, creative, and have interests in = audition, speech/language, and/or cognitive/systems neuroscience. They will= also have great interpersonal skills and a strong willingness to learn. Candidates should have an undergraduate degree in a related field (e.g. Neu= roscience, Psychology, Engineering, Biology, etc.), and experience with pro= gramming in either Matlab or Python. Duke University is an excellent and highly interdisciplinary place for rese= arch.
