If you know anyone who is looking for a postdoc position in hearing science, please forward them this email. Thanks for considering. Regards, Sriram --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *Postdoctoral Research Fellow Position in Understanding Efferent Control of the Ear* --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Efferent Systems Lab (PI: Sriram Boothalingam) at the Waisman Center, University of Wisconsin, Madison, is looking for a postdoctoral fellow to work on projects that use otoacoustic emissions (OAEs), electroencephalography (EEG), and behavioral methods to understand the working of the auditory efferent system in humans. *Salary:* NIH postdoc pay rate (depending on experience) *Percent time:* 100% *Anticipated start date:* July 1, 2019 *Deadline to apply:* June 1, 2019 (open until filled) *Requirements:* Ph.D. in Hearing Science, Audiology, Neuroscience, Biomedical Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines is required. Technical skills including some programming/signal processing are preferred. Previous research experience in one or more of the following methods: OAEs, EEG, psychoacoustics and/or areas: cochlear mechanics, auditory efferents, central auditory pathways, synaptopathy is desired but not mandatory. *Summary of job duties: *The postdoctoral fellow will work on studies that aim to characterize the brainstem auditory reflex function and interrelationships among reflexes in children and adults. The position involves close collaboration with Viji Easwar (University of Wisconsin, Madison) on EEG-related aspects and Shawn Goodman (University of Iowa) on OAE-related aspects of the project. The position will involve collection, processing, analysis, and interpretation of OAE, EEG, and behavioral data. It is expected that the applicant will be able to assist in the writing of manuscripts and grant applications and make positive scholarly contributions to our collaborative research lab. Several Doctor of Audiology and undergraduate students take part in research in the Efferent Systems Lab, providing mentorship opportunities for the postdoctoral fellow.
