We would like to invite submissions for paper presentations, performances, = workshops and more to the MOCO which will be held 15-17th July 2020 in Jers= ey City, NJ. Important Dates * Submission deadline: 19 February 2020 * Notification of Acceptance: 15 April 2020 * Registration starts: 1 May 2020 Information about previous conferences can be found here<https://movementco= mputing.org/>. Submissions MOCO is open to a wide range of ways to present your work. In addition to p= apers for oral and poster presentations, we invite submission of practice w= ork such as demos, performances, games, artistic works and movement worksho= ps (in which participants take part in a guided movement activity). We enco= urage creative proposals for practice sessions and are open to novel format= s. Topics include but are not limited to (bold topics are new this year): * Dance and technology * Interactive dance * Music and movement * Gesture and sound * Entrainment and movement * Sensory augmentation of movement * Sensorimotor learning * Embodied cognition and movement * Embodied interaction * Full body interaction * Technique analysis * Individual and group movement capture in sports * Mechanisms of coordination dynamics * Learning detection through the movement * Non-linear analysis to predict performance and learning process * Non-linear analysis as a tool for diagnosis * Movement in social interaction * Movement and computing for autism and other nervous disorders * Movement analysis and analytics * Bio-sensing, biocontrol and movement * Digital biomarkers for tracking the peripheral nervous system * Movement as a proxy of human brain * Machine learning for movement * Movement computation for entrainment * Movement computation in education * Movement computation in ergonomics, sports, and health * Movement expression in virtual humans and robots * Theoretical approaches to movement understanding * Philosophical perspectives on movement and computing * Movement Notation Systems (e.g. Laban or Eshkol-Wachman) We encourage submission of a wide range of formats, the submission categori= es are: Papers and posters * Long paper with oral presentation (8 pages maximum) * Short paper with oral presentation (4 pages maximum) * Extended abstract with poster presentation (6 pages maximum in the ex= tended abstract format) The conference is an opportunity to present original research and details o= f collaborative work. Participants will have the chance to offer a presenta= tion of the results of their research on one of the themes of the conferenc= e and to interact with their scientific/artistic peers, in a friendly and c= onstructive environment. All papers submissions must be anonymous and will be peer-reviewed. The pro= ceedings of the MOCO conference are published on the ACM Digital library u= nder the International Conference Proceedings Series. Practice Works The term =93practice work=94 refers to practice-based works in the area of = movement and computing. These can either be artistically-oriented descripti= ons/demonstrations of specific performances or systems, or descriptions of = a particular computationally-oriented application. We suggest the following= as examples of what a practice work might be, but also stress that the lis= t is not exhaustive, the only criteria being excellence of the work and whe= ther it is possible to present the work given the resources, time, and spac= e available to the conference. Suggested practice work topics include: * Technology demos * Performances (e.g., dance, physical performance, music) * Artworks * Interactive Installations * Games * Video presentations Practice works may either be submitted for presentation as posters or demos= . Poster submissions will detail a specific approach to the practice of mov= ement and computing. Selected posters will be presented at the conference, = and an accompanying extended abstract will be published in the conference p= roceedings. Demo submissions will outline a live demonstration/performance that will ta= ke place at the conference. Demos will take place during dedicated sessions= at the conference. Performances may be submitted in the Demo category, in = which case a dedicated time will be given for the performance (generally up= to 10 minutes), however due to the configuration of Mana Contemporary and = the conference schedule, Demo performances will take place in a shared gall= ery space (and not on a proscenium stage). Practitioners submitting in the = Demo category will have the option of including an ACM-formatted extended a= bstract for inclusion in the conference proceedings. Poster Practice Works submissions consist of the following items combined i= nto one pdf document. Please note, all submissions must be anonymous--this = includes external media: 1. An extended abstract in appropriate ACM formatting (2-pages maximum, = see below) for inclusion in the conference proceedings 2. A document with links to supporting media (videos, pictures, audio, e= tc.) Demo Practice Works submissions consist of the following items combined int= o one pdf document. Please note, all submissions must be anonymous--this in= cludes external media: 1. A 200-word abstract to be included in conference program 2. A 1-2 page (maximum) project description, including links to supporti= ng media (videos, pictures, audio, etc.) 3. A 1-2 page (maximum) technical rider detailing all necessary equipmen= t, furniture, and space requirements for the Demo. This document should ind= icate what equipment the submitter is providing, and what equipment is expe= cted to be provided by the organizers. The organizers will make every effor= t to provide standard equipment as needed for Demo submissions (e.g. sound = reinforcement, projection, displays, etc.), however specialized equipment r= equired for performance will be the responsibility of the submitter. 4. (optional) An extended abstract in appropriate ACM formatting (2-page= s maximum, see below) for inclusion in the conference proceedings. Please note that we are an academic conference with a low fee which means w= e cannot pay for commissioned work or provide any financial compensation to= submitters in this category. All accepted submissions will require at leas= t one author to register for the conference. Graduate Consortium Submissions in this category represent an opportunity for graduate students= to share and develop their research ideas in a supportive environment and = with the participation of experts in the field. Students will have the oppo= rtunity to establish a community with other graduate students at a similar = stage of their research. Accepted papers will be presented as posters in a = dedicated =93poster tour=94 session where authors will have an opportunity = to orally present a short elevator pitch to experts in the field. We encour= age students to submit a paper even if they are early in their graduate car= eer. Papers should not be longer than 4 pages including references in the approp= riate ACM format (see below). The first author must be a current graduate s= tudent (at the time of submission). Graduate Consortium papers will be inde= xed and published in the conference proceedings. Videos and other supplemen= tary materials are welcomed. Students accepted to present their work at the= Graduate Consortium must plan to attend it.
