The project opens the possibility to=20 work for 2 years into the design and execution of:=C2=A0 a) experiments w= ith=20 human listeners; b) annotation campaigns to improve predictive=20 algorithms of human listeners perception of music in audiovisual=20 contexts; and c) predictive modelling of listening thresholds, under=20 different conditions, using deep learning. The overall required=20 dedication is 75% of a full-time schedule, but this amount of dedication=20 can be partially modulated according to the project and the candidate=20 requirements. We can also be flexible about the requirements of physical=20 presence although, ideally, the candidate should be able to work in=20 Barcelona, at the MTG. The MTG contribution will be supervised by=20 Perfecto Herrera with the collaboration of BMAT researchers and developer= s. *Starting date: *April**2021 *Required skills/qualifications:* We seek candidates with a background allowing them to carry on research=C2= =A0=20 on perceptual processes in applied contexts and, additionally, their=20 computational modelling. Suitable degrees, among others, could be=20 Computer Science, Electrical, Audiovisual or Multimedia Engineering,=20 Psychology, Audiology, etc. - Experience with Python and Git (or similar tools) - Ability to work=20 and deliver autonomously while being a part of a team *Valuable skills/experience:* - Master degree in Sound and Music Computing, Music Technology,=20 Psychoacoustics, or related field - Experience designing and carrying out experiments involving human=20 subjects, online or on-site, and analysing their data - Experience developing audio signal processing algorithms and deep=20 learning applications - Experience in music or audio annotation campaigns involving human=20 listeners and massive collections of audio-visual recordings - Experience in machine learning applied to audio - Experience with deep learning libraries (PyCharm/Keras/TensorFlow) - Experience using Essentia or similar audio analysis software - Communicative skills *ABOUT MTG:* The Music Technology Group of the Universitat Pompeu Fabra is a leading=20 research group with more than 40 researchers, carrying out research on=20 topics such as audio signal processing, music information retrieval,=20 musical interfaces, and computational musicology. The MTG wants to=20 contribute to the improvement of the information and communication=20 technologies related to sound and music, carrying out competitive=20 research at the international level and at the same time transferring=20 its results to society. To that goal, and guided by ourvalues=20 <https://www.upf.edu/web/mtg/values>, the MTG aims at finding a balance=20 between basic and applied research while promoting interdisciplinary=20 approaches that incorporate knowledge from both scientific/technological=20 and humanistic/artistic disciplines. *HOW TO APPLY?* Interested people should send a resume as well as an introduction letter=20 to mtg-info@xxxxxxxx=20 <mailto:mtg-info@xxxxxxxx?subject=3Dresearcher%20developer%20position> ---- All models are wrong, but some are useful. - George Box --------------A241D01706E44643BAF74B6C Content-Type: text/html; charset=utf-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable X-MIME-Autoconverted: from 8bit to quoted-printable by edgeum4.it.mcgill.ca id 129HANGb093698 <html> <head> <meta http-equiv=3D"content-type" content=3D"text/html; charset=3DUTF= -8"> </head> <body> <div class=3D"container noticia-maximized nova">- apologies for cross posting <br> - please, feel free to redistribute<br> <br> Dear colleagues, <div class=3D"row"> <div class=3D"asset-full-content span8"> <div class=3D"content" id=3D"content"> <p>The MTG-UPF, in collaboration with <a href=3D"https://www.bmat.com/es/" target=3D"_blank" moz-do-not-send=3D"true">BMAT</a>, starts a project funde= d by the Generalitat de Catalunya that will foster research and development on psychoacoustics and computational modelling.
