This position is currently remote due to COVID but will be in the office in the future (flexible/hybrid schedule available) located Glenview, IL as part of the BioAcoustic and Ambient Intelligence Research Labs. Responsibilities include but are not limited to - Verify and validate early-stage research within adaptive signal processing - Investigate new metrics for performance evaluations with true end-user benefit. - Build a simulation framework using acoustic models, virtual acoustics, and objective metrics. - Evaluate current and future algorithms against industry standards and state-of-the-art. - Combine, correlate, and analyze data from internal and external research. - Cooperate with other scientists across teams, disciplines, labs and locations. - Occasionally travel to our headquarter in Denmark. Required Education & Qualifications - Ph.D. or equivalent experience in one of the following, acoustic engineering, signal processing, electrical engineering, or software engineering. - Proven experience with adaptive signal processing and modelling of signals and systems. - Strong programming and software engineering skills. - Understanding of hearing science and psychoacoustics is a plus - 2-3 years of research experience beyond the PhD. - Ability to cross collaborate on a global level.
