This post is part of Dr Lauren Hadley= 's UKRI funded programme, which focuses on how people process speech when l= istening in conversation, and, specifically, how this differs between peopl= e with normal and impaired hearing. The successful candidate will d= evelop and execute specific elements of the programme to address the mechan= isms involved in predicting speech in conversation. The post-holder will us= e eye tracking to address prediction speed and confidence, electroencephalo= graphy (EEG) to address oscillatory behaviour, and transcranial magnetic st= imulation (TMS) to investigate motor simulation. They will have the opportu= nity to gain supervision experience and to lead their own studies as the pr= oject progresses. Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent experience in co= gnitive science, experimental psychology, neuroscience or a related area. K= ey requirements are strong statistical skills, experience designing neural/= physiological experiments with human participants, and enthusiasm for colla= borating with others.
