Dear Auditory list members,
We are recruiting a PhD student to join us at King's College London (Strand Campus) to work on improving the accuracy of wave-based room acoustics simulations!
The project will focus on numerical modelling (finite-difference time domain method) and explore the use of machine learning to reduce numerical errors, with applications in architectural acoustics, immersive
audio, and virtual acoustics.
The position is fully funded (3.5 years) and open to UK and international students. More detailed information, including how to apply, is available here:
https://www.findaphd.com/phds/project/start-up-studentship-towards-more-accurate-numerical-solvers-for-room-acoustics-modelling/?p195317
Application deadline: 17 May 2026
Position starting date: 1 October 2026
Please feel free to share with anyone who might be interested, and don't hesitate to contact me if you have questions about the project.
Very best,
Julie Meyer
