Dear list, In the framework of the
Institut Pasteur advanced courses program, we organize in
Paris a two-weeks course on the principles of hearing, from
the cochlea to the central auditory system. The HeaR course will take place from October 19 to October 30, 2026 at the Institut de l'Audition in the Bastille area in the heart of Paris.
International experts
will cover a broad range of topics including acoustics,
psychoacoustics, the genetic and biophysics of the peripheral
auditory system, neural principles of central auditory
processing, as well as hearing pathologies and therapies. The course is held in
English and alternates, in a friendly atmosphere, between
plenary lectures in the morning and hands-on sessions in the
afternoon, allowing to concretely apprehend many aspects of
hearing research. This course is intended
for master students, doctoral students, post-doctoral fellows,
clinicians, hearing care professionals and engineers starting
