[AUDITORY] Workshop on Auditory/Vestibular Efferent Systems, October 26-28, 2026

To our Colleagues interested in Efferent Systems,

The HWK Study Group: Auditory Efferents: Closing the Loop(s) will host a workshop at the HWK in Delmenhorst, Germany on October 26-28, 2026.  The title and theme of this year’s workshop is:  “Top-down Hearing: Future Directions for Research on Auditory Feedback Pathways."   [The HWK is the Hanse-Wissenschaftskolleg, Institute for Advanced Study, a magical place that hosts workshops, study groups, and sabbatical visitors in northern Germany. See: https://hanse-ias.de/en/]
A list of speakers and titles is provided here: is https://hanse-ias.de/veranstaltungen/detail/event/703. The workshop will also include ample opportunities for discussion, including planning for future resources for researchers pursuing studies of efferent systems.

The workshop will begin on Monday morning (Oct 26) and will end on Wed late afternoon (Oct 28). Meals during the workshop (lunches Mon-Wed, and dinners on Monday and Tuesday) will be included for all attendees, and there is no registration fee.

**Please send an e-mail by July 31, 2026 to  Laurel.Carney@xxxxxxxxxxxxx  to express 1) your interest in attending, and 2) if you would like to present a poster (limited spaces are available for both attendance and for posters).  These e-mail responses will be used to reserve spots at the Workshop, and assemble a list for registration.

Emails with registration instructions, along with information on the venue, accommodation, directions, etc., will be sent to the list of responders by HWK staff in early August.

Laurel Carney, for co-organizers Christine Köppl and Go Ashida
