The Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing (SLH) at The University of Texas at Dallas invites prospective students to learn more about our Ph.D. program and opportunities for advanced research and scholarly training.
Our Ph.D. program prepares students for careers as independent researchers, educators, and leaders in the field of communication sciences and disorders. Students work closely with faculty mentors and engage in interdisciplinary research addressing a wide range of topics across speech, language, hearing, and related areas. Ph.D. students have access to the research resources and interdisciplinary opportunities available through UT Dallas and the Callier Center for Communication Disorders, as well as opportunities to collaborate with researchers and clinicians across disciplines. We welcome applicants with diverse academic, research, and professional backgrounds who are interested in advancing knowledge in communication sciences and disorders.
Join Us for a Ph.D. Open House!
We will be hosting three virtual SLHS Ph.D. Open House sessions for prospective students interested in learning more about our program.
Open House Session 1: Monday, September 28, 4:00–5:00 p.m. CT
Open House Session 2: Friday, October 9, 9:30–10:30 a.m. CT
Open House Session 3: Tuesday, October 20, 4:00pm–5:30pm CT**
**Session 3 is hosted by the AuD program and includes information about AuD/PhD options

Prospective applicants are encouraged to explore our faculty research areas and consider reaching out to potential faculty mentors whose research aligns with their interests.
