[AUDITORY] Postdoctoral position, Dijon, France: Neurodevelopment and rhythm processing

Postdoctoral position, Dijon, France: Neurodevelopment and rhythm processing

An 18-month postdoctoral position is available as part of a research project investigating biomarkers and behavioral probes for preclinical perinatal asphyxia, with a focus on rhythm and sequencing (funded by ERA-NET NEURON, H2020). The project combines behavioral tasks, EEG, eye-tracking, and motion capture to understand the role of rhythm processing and synchronization in infant development and perinatal asphyxia outcomes. The goal is to characterize preclinical cases, identify biomarkers, assess development and optimize diagnostic criteria to improve its early detection. The project consortium involves four academic partners with complementary expertise spanning early neurodevelopment, neural data processing, the cognitive neurosciences of music, computational modeling and molecular biology.
The position will be with Barbara Tillmann in Dijon (LEAD-UMR5022; https://lead.ube.fr), starting ideally in February 2027 (although starting date is flexible), and will involve close collaboration with Sahar Moghimi in Amiens (INSERM U1105) and Birgitta Toth (HUN-REN Natural Sciences Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience and Psychology, Budapest). The postdoctoral researcher will work on a testing program aiming to evaluate infants’ perceptual and cognitive abilities at birth and at 12–18 months, as well as on related experimental studies. They will work in close collaboration with the other consortium members.

Required: PhD in developmental psychology, cognitive or computational neurosciences, neuropsychology or a related field; strong motivation for teamwork; statistical and programming skills; prior experience with EEG and/or movement analyses
Preferable: research experience in developmental science; knowledge in the field of neurosciences of music and/or auditory perception; prior experience with eye-tracking

Applications should be sent to barbara.tillmann@xxxxxxx. They should include a CV, a cover letter specifying research interests and motivation, and contact details for two referees. Applications will be evaluated as they are received, and the position will remain open until filled.
