[AUDITORY] International Participants Wanted for Listening Difficulties Research

Dear AUDITORY colleagues,

I’m an audiologist and PhD researcher at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia, currently investigating listening difficulties experienced despite relatively normal audiometric results.

I’m currently recruiting participants for two related anonymous questionnaires:

1. Hearing health professionals
For audiologists, ENT professionals and other hearing health professionals, exploring how clinicians recognise, assess and support clients who report hearing difficulties despite normal test results. The questionnaire takes approximately 15–20 minutes.

2. People experiencing listening difficulties
For adults who have relatively normal hearing test results but still experience listening difficulties, particularly understanding speech in background noise. This questionnaire explores their listening experiences, everyday impacts and experiences seeking support.

Participants are welcome from anywhere in the world, and both questionnaires are anonymous.

The research has received ethics approval through Macquarie University (HREC 520251075362057).

I would be very grateful if you would consider participating if relevant, or sharing the questionnaires with colleagues, clients, research participants or others in your networks who may be interested.

Warm regards,
