My research looks at links between psychoacoustic measures of hearing= and auditory physiology, with a particular focus on aural diversity. I am currently recruiting participants for a listening study that I will be= running at the University of Manchester during the week of 7th-11th Septem= ber. As the Auditory Science Meeting and ManCAD CAPers are also taking plac= e at the university that week, I thought this might be particularly conveni= ent for anyone who will already be in Manchester and would be interested in= taking part. Participation involves two sessions on the same day, each lasting approxima= tely 45=9660 minutes, with a break of at least one hour between the two ses= sions. The study involves questionnaires, a hearing test, a passive ear rec= ording using otoacoustic emissions, and some simple listening tasks. All pr= ocedures are safe and non-invasive. I am primarily running sessions on Monday 7th, Thursday 10th and Friday 11t= h September. I can also arrange sessions on Tuesday 8th and Wednesday 9th b= y request. People can take part in this round if they: * are aged 30=9659 * have no formal music training * have no known hearing impairment * have no current ear infection * have not been exposed to loud sounds in the 24 hours before the sessi= on The study will take place in the Ellen Wilkinson Building, University of Ma= nchester, M15 6JA.
