The challeng= e results will be disseminated at a Signal Processing Grand Challenge sessi= on at ICASSP 2027. In the first edition, low-resource speech codecs matched the quality of hig= h-resource codecs at 6 kbps, highlighting their potential for practical, hi= gh-quality real-time communication. LRAC 2.0 takes this further by explorin= g how neural codec quality scales with bitrate, whether it can reach transp= arency, how well these methods generalize across languages, and how memory = bandwidth interacts with compute, latency, and bitrate constraints. The challenge runs through 30 November 2026, with registration open until 1= 7 November 2026.
