Chuck, you might want to take a look at some of the fluency (primarily
stuttering) work that has been done over the past several years such as by Joe
Stemple.  They have done work which provides frequency shifted feedback to their
stuttering clients for self monitoring.  This frequency shifting has sometimes
had dramatic results clinically speaking.
