Actually, just to be picky, 8-10 Hz correspond to 100 to 125 ms per tone
yes, oops.  My apologies for introducing data on much higher rates!
Perhaps my error was inadvertently because I am interested in
distinguishing between perceiving distinct "events" and sensitivity
to very high rates of change.  The traditional measures of temporal
modulation sensitivity suggest that we can perceive temporal
fluctuations well above 20 Hz (up to 800 Hz, for example).  However,
the quality of what is being detected changes sharply at 10-20 Hz.
Is the "tatum" a totally different beast from modulation?  Do
different mechanisms support it?  I'd be interested in what folks
think.

Again, however, my apologies on the time to frequency conversion error!
