POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP: NEUROIMAGING OF HUMAN AUDITORY ATTENTION

POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP:  NEUROIMAGING OF HUMAN AUDITORY ATTENTION

A postdoctoral fellowship is available to map human auditory cortical fields using combined structural and functional MRI techniques. Auditory cortical field activations are imaged in a variety of selective-attention paradigms that vary attentional demands and stimulus features.  Activations are projected onto the cortical surface using locally normalized anatomical maps derived from automated measures of cortical curvature and thickness. Tools used include SPM, Freesurfer, Presentation, and in-house MATLAB and statistical analysis programs. A further description of the laboratory and research projects is available at www.ebire.org/hcnlab.

SALARY: $40,000-$55,000 depending on experience. Position duration: 2 yrs.

QUALIFICATIONS.  PhD or MD.    Candidates should have a strong publication record, with a focus on auditory perception, physiology and/or anatomy. Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems and some programming experience is a plus.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Interested candidates should email a letter of intent, C.V., representative publications, and the names of three references to: Professor David L. Woods, Dept. of Neurology, UC Davis. Email: dlwoods@ucdavis.edu.
