Position Announcement: Signal Processing Engineer



SIGNAL PROCESSING ENGINEER

VM Bloedel Hearing Research Center, Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery,
University of Washington
Seattle, WA

General Duties/Description: This position develops, tests, and analyzes
signal processing software. It requires independent judgment in the
evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation/modification of standard
techniques, procedures, and criteria. The project involves programming
cochlear implant signal processors to allow testing of novel strategies to
improve hearing of speech and music in recipients of these devices.

Requirements: Master's degree or higher in electrical engineering (Bachelor's
degree candidates with exceptional qualifications may be considered) plus
four or more years of experience in a related area, or equivalent
combination of education and experience. Has established technical
expertise. Serves as a resource to research department and UW. Possesses and
applies a comprehensive knowledge of particular field of specialization to
the completion of complex assignments. Advances state-of-the-art research in
field of specialization. This is the fully competent professional,
independent researcher level. Capable of working independently and without
direction on assigned tasks/projects.
