Any suggestions for detection threshold and children speech database?

Dear List,

Is anyone aware of

1) any studies looking at the average speech detection threshold (i.e. average minimum sound pressure level for a speech sound to be heard) ?

and 

2) a database of children speech (preferably high quality, full bandwidth)? 

I have found information indicating the measurement of speech detection threshold, but none about the average threshold at the moment. 

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
