Re: Online talk available

Bob and List,

This talk is very useful. I sent it around to the graduate students and faculty in my department. It's not just people in hearing science that make these mistakes.Â

It should also be read by all the gullible science reporters who report on the latest health "breakthroughs" uncritically.

Dear list,

Last year I gave a talk to the British Society of Audiology, which was subsequently recorded & made available online. The title is âScience: How not to do itâ and the talk covers some common logical and statistical errors in scientific research. There are also some good cartoons, and the opportunity to win points by spotting errors. I realise that it may not be sophisticated enough for many subscribers to this list, but some people have found it useful, so I thought Iâd post the link.
