PhD scholarships at the MARCS Institute, University of Western Sydney

The MARCS Institute invites applications from highly motivated graduates
seeking to undertake a PhD in Music Cognition and Action, specifically:
- Neurocognitive mechanisms for perception-action coupling;
- Sensorimotor synchronisation, entrainment, and rhythm perception and
production;
- Developing and modelling ensemble skills and joint action;
- Perceiving loudness and its relation to affect;
- Improvising and creating dance and music;
- Associative learning including action and dance sequences.

Potential advisors: A/Prof Peter Keller, Dr Jennifer MacRitchie, Dr
Giacomo Novembre, Dr Manuel Varlet, Prof Roger Dean, Dr Kirk Olsen, Dr
Andrew Milne and Prof Kate Stevens.

The closing date for MARCS Institute scholarships is 10 October 2014 and
for Australian Postgraduate Awards (APA) and UWS Postgraduate Research
Awards (UWSPRA) is 31 October 2014. Applications may be submitted to
multiple schemes.

process which includes a 500-word project proposal.
