Position Summary
The Audio & Acoustic Research Scientist will be part of a global and multi-disciplinary team of 30+ researchers, scientists and engineers based in four locations: Copenhagen (DK), Eindhoven (NL), Minneapolis (US), and Chicago (US).

This position is currently remote due to COVID but will be in the office in the future (flexible/hybrid schedule available) located Glenview, IL as part of the BioAcoustic and Ambient Intelligence Research Labs.

This allows GN to develop a wide knowledge base of the hearing device and piece it all together.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

• Verify and validate early-stage research within adaptive signal processing
• Investigate new metrics for performance evaluations with true end-user benefit.
• Build a simulation framework using acoustic models, virtual acoustics, and objective metrics.
• Evaluate current and future algorithms against industry standards and state-of-the-art.
• Combine, correlate, and analyze data from internal and external research.
• Cooperate with other scientists across teams, disciplines, labs and locations.
• Occasionally travel to our headquarter in Denmark.

Required Education & Qualifications

• Ph.D. or equivalent experience in one of the following, acoustic engineering, signal processing, electrical engineering, or software engineering.
• Proven experience with adaptive signal processing and modelling of signals and systems.
• Strong programming and software engineering skills.
• Understanding of hearing science and psychoacoustics is a plus
• 2-3 years of research experience beyond the PhD.
• Ability to cross collaborate on a global level.
