Abstract submission and conference registration are now open for the Conference on Cognition, Aging, and Speech Communication (CASC)! CASC is the merging of the conference on “Aging and Speech Communication” and the conference on “Cognitive Hearing Science for Communication.”
Conference Information
The conference will be held at Washington University in St. Louis, MO, May 6-9, 2026. The primary goal of this conference is to continue a series of exceptional international and interdisciplinary research conferences that address speech-communication challenges in older adults.
CASC will be held at the Eric P. Newman Education Center located on the Medical Campus of Washington University in St. Louis. The conference website contains details about the program, costs, registration, and abstract submission.

The 2026 conference is organized around eight themes:

● Animal studies of aging and hearing
● Aging and speech: production, perception, and understanding
● Cognition and aging
● Aging and multisensory perception and processing
● Access to hearing health care
● Hearing loss and hearing assistive devices (HA & CI)
● Technological advances (Pharmaceuticals, AI, and more)
Who should come to CASC?
● The conference is intended for any individual interested in age-related changes in speech perception, production, and understanding. It is appropriate for graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, faculty, and other scientists working in the fields of aging, cognition, and communication sciences and disorders.
● Previous attendees to any Cognitive Hearing Science for Communication (CHSCOM)
● Previous attendees to any Aging and Speech Communication (ASC) conference
● Attendees of American Auditory Society, Association for Research in Otolaryngology, Neurobiology of Language, Acoustical Society of America, Hearing Across the Lifespan, and other similar conferences
