[AUDITORY] Call for Participation: LRAC 2.0 – ICASSP 2027 Signal Processing Grand Challenge

Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to announce that the second edition of the LRAC Challenge (LRAC 2.0) is underway, and we warmly invite you to participate. The challenge results will be disseminated at a Signal Processing Grand Challenge session at ICASSP 2027.

In the first edition, low-resource speech codecs matched the quality of high-resource codecs at 6 kbps, highlighting their potential for practical, high-quality real-time communication. LRAC 2.0 takes this further by exploring how neural codec quality scales with bitrate, whether it can reach transparency, how well these methods generalize across languages, and how memory bandwidth interacts with compute, latency, and bitrate constraints.

The challenge runs through 30 November 2026, with registration open until 17 November 2026.
