Postdoctoral Position to study auditory-somatosensory integration

A postdoctoral position is available to study the physiology and
anatomy of somatosensory projections to the cochlear nucleus (CN) and
inferior colliculus (IC). We use multichannel silicon probes to
record extracellular unit activity from CN and IC while stimulating
inputs from somatosensory nuclei. We use anatomical tract tracing and
immunocytochemical methods to determine the nature and transmitters of
these pathways. We will examine the normal system and also the
sound-deprived system to look for plastic synaptic changes after
sensory deprivation.

The Kresge Hearing Research Institute has a large and active
auditory group and the University of Michigan a very large and
diverse neuroscience community.

Applicants with experience in electrophysiology, and/ anatomical
methods are encouraged to apply. I will be at this years ARO meeting
if you would like to get together there. Please send cover letter,
curriculum vitae and the names and addresses of three references to:
