Research Assistant Position

RESEARCH ASSISTANT POSITION: Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Psychology, Harvard University
Seeking to fill a full-time Research Assistant position. Starting date is flexible but October 2005 is preferred. Research assistant will oversee of all aspects of basic research on auditory development (music and speech) with infants and adults. Duties include: recruiting research participants, maintaining participant database and calendar, scheduling and confirming appointments, greeting families, conducting experiments, hiring, training and supervising undergraduate research assistants, purchasing and maintaining equipment and supplies, and assisting with data, video and acoustical analysis. This position is funded through the end of June 2007. Renewal of the appointment is contingent upon continued funding. 
Required Education, Experience and Skills: College degree in psychology or at least one year of related coursework is strongly preferred. Experience with psychological research, previous supervisory experience and music training (reading music) preferred. Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal skills required. Must be comfortable working with infants, toddlers and parents. Proficient with office and library technologies as well as on-line search skills.
