The School of Life and Health Sciences at Aston University is seeking an enthusiastic audiologist/auditory scientist to take up the position of Programme Director in Audiology.

Aston University offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in audiology and related fields and aims to be a centre of excellence for audiology teaching and research. Current auditory research at Aston is wide-ranging and includes cochlear implants, auditory scene analysis, binaural hearing, and speech perception, using a range of techniques including psychophysics and neuroimaging. A new clinical audiology research centre became operational this year, and this centre will support research into improved patient outcomes in audiology, as well as supporting our taught programmes in audiology.

The successful applicant will be the programme director and academic manager for the undergraduate and foundation degree programmes in audiology. A key component of the work will be liaison with the NHS trusts and organisation associated with these programmes. This position also offers a unique opportunity to contribute to work within a highly-motivated and successful multidisciplinary research team at an internationally competitive level.

Applicants must have clinical qualifications in audiology and a degree or professional equivalent in a related area. For appointment at Senior Lecturer/Lecturer level, a PhD or equivalent research experience is required. The successful applicant will be a highly-motivated teacher and clinician and will be a good communicator, as well as having a track record of successful leadership. A competitive salary will be available and the level of appointment will depend upon the candidate’s research experience.

The School of Life and Health Sciences at Aston University is seeking an enthusiastic audiologist/auditory scientist to take up the position of Clinical Teacher in Audiology. The successful applicant will contribute to clinical teaching on both the BSc Audiology programme and the new Foundation Degree programme in Hearing Aid Technology and will have administrative responsibility for the foundation programme.
