Post-doctoral position in 3-D sound and spatial hearing

A post-doctoral position is available at the Interface Laboratory at CIPIC --
the Center for Image Processing and
Integrated Computing, University of California, Davis.

The goal of our research is to develop computationally efficient models of the
HRTF that can be easily customized to each individual listener. We are also
engaged in applications of spatial sound in the human/computer interface. See

We are seeking a strongly motivated person with good analytical and
experimental skills and with good knowledge of digital signal processing.
Experience with MATLAB and a Unix/Linux network environment is desired. Salary
is based on experience, and can be as much as US $36,000 per year plus
benefits.

The position is available for 12 months at 100% time. The appointment is
renewable, depending on performance and continued availability of funding. The
starting date is approximately January 1, 2000.

Applicants must have a PhD. Although a doctorate in Electrical Engineering,
Computer Engineering, or Computer Science is preferred, applicants with a
doctorate in Psychology, Physics, or other related disciplines are also invited
